Event Description: A conversation with artist Genesis Tramaine, gallerist Richard Beavers, and Prizm Art Fair founder Mikhaile Solomon, moderated by Donnamarie Baptiste. As part of their participation in UNTITLED, ART Online, Phaidon & Artspace have produced a benefit edition by Brooklyn-based artist Genesis Tramaine to support programming, fellowships and grants at the New York Foundation for the Arts.

Taking Up Space: Demanding Presence, Ceding Power, and Active Allyship 

Date: July 23, 2020, 2pm ET – 3pm ET

Artists Lorena Molina, Xia Zhang, M’Shinda Imani Abdullah-Broaddus, Josie Love Roebuck, Sammi Jones, and Jordan Tate discuss the necessity of institutional inclusion which demands a reconciliation of systemic inequity and demonstrates the value of ceding power and active allyship. The conversation will be moderated by arts and culture curator, producer and programmer, Donnamarie Baptiste.

Join a virtual walk-through of UNTITLED, ART Online with Christian Viveros-Fauné. Christian Viveros-Fauné (Santiago, 1965) has worked as a gallerist, art fair director, art critic and curator since 1994. He was awarded Kennedy Family Visiting Fellowship in 2018, a Creative Capital/Warhol Foundation Grant for short-form arts writing in 2009, named Art Critic in Residence at the Bronx Museum in 2011, and has lectured at Yale University, Pratt Institute, and Amsterdam’s Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Viveros-Fauné is Chief Critic for Artland and writes regularly for ArtReview; Sotheby’s/Art Agency Partners’s in other words and The Art Newspaper. He presently serves as Curator-at-Large at the University of South Florida Contemporary Art Museum and Visiting Critic at the NYU Steinhardt Department of Art and Education. He has curated numerous museum exhibitions around the world and is the author of several books. Event description: Omar López-Chahoud has been the Artistic Director and Curator of UNTITLED, ART since its founding in 2012. As an independent curator, López-Chahoud has curated and co-curated numerous exhibitions in the United States and internationally. He curated the Nicaraguan Biennial in March 2014 and has participated in curatorial panel discussions at Artists’ Space, Art in General, MoMA PS1, and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. He is currently a member of the Bronx Museum Acquisitions Committee. López-Chahoud earned MFAs from Yale University School of Art, and the Royal Academy of Art in London.
